Volunteering At Law Help Ontario

Law Help Ontario is a walk-in centre located at Superior Court (393 University Avenue, Toronto).

By volunteering to help members of the public who cannot afford to hire a lawyer, you are giving back to your local community in a tangible way. Also, during your time spent at Law Help Ontario, you will experience personal and professional enrichment opportunities beneficial to your career as a lawyer.

The time commitment is one full day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Scheduling is flexible--you can volunteer as often as one day a month or as little as one day a year.

Each day, 2 volunteer lawyers attend onsite at the centre. A litigation coordinator assists by screening applicants for financial suitability and assessing the assistance they require. Law Help Ontario's mandate is to provide summary legal and procedural advice to unrepresented litigants with civil litigation matters (no family law or criminal matters)
